Clinical Aromatherapy

The healing powers of essential oils have been studied for thousands of years.  Ancient Greeks and Romans knew the healing and restorative powers of the essential life forces of plants and refined ways to obtain the purest of oils for remedy and prevention.  In recent years the growth of aromatherapy as a complementary therapy has been phenomenal and the practice is being accepted by orthodox practitioners and hospital patients all over the country.

I have been trained using only the best quality therapeutic grade oils (www.youngliving.com) which offer a higher level of effectiveness in physical, emotional and spiritual healing.  As a certified clinical aromatherapist, I will work with you to select the oils most specific to your needs and instruct you in the safe use and appropriate application for the most effective response.  Essential oils can be added to a healing touch session to increase energy flow and responsiveness.  In addition, there are specific treatments that use the oils to address emotional release of a traumatic event, to heal and to feel better emotionally, spiritually and physically.  Besides all of the wonderful benefits, oils just smell good and make you feel good at the same time!

To learn more about my training background you can find a description of the program I completed at: www.ishahealing.com

The Raindrop Technique

Taking inspiration from a Lakota tradition of healing, this technique has been used for years to balance and rejuvenate the mind and body.  Several oils are applied in sequence to the feet and the back, creating a very stimulating and relaxing session designed to bring about electrical alignment and help relieve a variety of discomforts caused by imbalance in the body.

According to Young Living literature: “The Lakota tradition tells of a tribal journey far north into Canada to witness the aurora borealis, or northern lights. (living in Alaska this was an incredible experience which I enjoyed—even though I would have to get up in the middle of the night to see this spectacular light show!) The legend states that when the Lakota arrived, tribal members reached upward into the night sky while deeply inhaling the healing power from the dancing lights.  The story is told that many were healed of various sicknesses and afflictions that night.”

When the Lakota were restricted to their reservations and could no longer travel north, they adapted a technique of lightly brushing their bodies while envisioning the healing lights.  This approach serves as the inspiration for the technique I was taught by Gary Young.  This is something you will not want to miss if you experience any discomfort related to the spine, or are under stress.
